For those of you that know me, I’ve been involved in small business marketing for more than 20 years. So why now all of the sudden am I so gung-ho on Infusionsoft? The short answer is that it removes the necessity of using many different systems, saves time, and makes me and my clients more effective marketers.
To fully tell the story, let me start with my introduction to the software to begin with. Last year, I was asked by two of my clients in the same month to take the emails templates that I had designed for them and add them into their new CRM and email marketing system. They each provided me with a login and I jumped in to add their info. I realized in working in the system that it was very user friendly and intuitive. I had been in the market myself for a CRM system so figured I’d take a closer look, and went online to request a demo.
What I discovered during the demonstration is that Infusionsoft had managed to very nicely combine into one system what I was doing with Sugar or Salesforce, plus Mailchimp or Constant Contact, plus excel spreadsheets and sales management software. Plus, in combining all of the systems into one, I was able to quickly get numbers and reports detailing the effectiveness of the marketing elements in place, and the end ROI. The magic of saving time with one system and strong reporting was like a lightbulb went off in my head. I got so excited during the demo that I signed up on the spot. I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t found out about this software before – I had been doing everything the hard way!
I started telling my current clients about this new software I found and how awesome I thought it was and the energy was contagious – everyone introduced to Infusionsoft caught the bug just like me.
I went online and worked through all of the how-to documents and videos, and signed up to attend ICON – the Infusionsoft annual conference. At the conference I learned even more and became so excited about even more potential – I signed up to become certified at the Infusionsoft headquarters, figuring that I wanted to get as much training as I could.
What I didn’t know at the time was that as a certified consultant I could also resell Infusionsoft. This was extremely exciting as well because this means that I get access to great pricing and can pass this on to my customers. So here we are – are we only doing Infusionsoft? No. But we do require that any customers we are designing and developing entire marketing plans, we require that they use Infusionsoft because it just makes for such a better and more effective marketing system. I have learned along the way that those serious about growing their business past a certain level absolutely must have a system in place to automate processes and some communications, so a systems like Infusionsoft becomes absolutely imperative.
